Georgian Bay, Ontario 1914

Although Tom grew up on the southern shore of Georgian Bay, it wasn’t until he was 35 that he explored other parts of the Bay.  Dr. MacCallum invited Thomson to his cottage in Go Home Bay, where he sketched between ferrying guests and doing other chores.  When he was paddling back to Algonquin Park, he painted along the way, at Parry Sound, Byng Inlet and The French River.
