LEITH PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 1887

"Gram recalls Tom Thomson sitting in front of her brother Jim and herself, and wiggling his ears in church.  Of course this was hilarious, and the two started to giggle. As they left the church that morning, the minister, Dr. Fraser, stopped them and told them that if they couldn't behave, they would have to stay home. Gram and Jim kept quiet about this, but their brother Bill told their parents, and they two were throughly punished. Gram says that Tom could wiggle his ears better than anyone she ever knew, and that the expression on his face never changed as he did it."
